Cynthia Smith is the Founder and President of Novel Bio Recovery, a biohazard remediation company built on a simple but powerful promise: Restoration with Compassion. With over 12 years of executive-level experience in the crime and trauma scene cleanup industry — including serving as Vice President of Operations for a national biohazard remediation company — Cynthia brings rare expertise, deep operational knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to the people she serves.

After stepping away from her VP role, Cynthia didn't slow down — she redirected. When someone close to her attempted suicide, it became a turning point. Determined to turn pain into purpose, she immersed herself in mental health awareness and crisis advocacy, and in July 2025 she founded The Novel Advocate, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to connecting individuals with mental health, domestic violence, legal, and community resources. Still in its early stages, The Novel Advocate reflects Cynthia's belief that awareness, access, and compassion can change — and save — lives.

It was that same belief that led her to Novel Bio Recovery. Having spent over a decade responding to some of life's most devastating scenes, Cynthia understood something that others in the industry often overlook: the cleanup is only the beginning. When the crews leave and the scene is cleared, families are still left to navigate grief, trauma, and an often-overwhelming need for support. Novel Bio Recovery was founded to bridge that gap — not just restoring spaces, but connecting clients to the resources they need to begin healing.

Cynthia's work as a victims advocate, her personal experience with crisis, and her professional background have shaped a company that leads with both technical excellence and genuine human compassion.
